O'Flaherty Lab
Welcome to O'Flaherty Lab (Microbial Ecology Lab)!
We are interested in all aspects of microbial ecology, more than that, we apply these fundamental knowledge for developing technologies to contribute to a sustainable world. Our research expands from low temperature anaerobic digestion, biorefinery from industrial waste (VFA and PHA production), and reducing GHG emissions from slurry and ruminant.
Check the details in our research page.

O'Flaherty lab commits to sustainable research.
As we are enthusiastic about sustainability, we decided to reduce the impacts of our research on the environment. O'Flaherty lab is proud to join my green lab program and to be certified. We will keep improve our practices and facilities to make this world a better place.
This progress is supported by Dr. Una Fitzgerald who leads the SFI Sustainable Laboratory Certification Program.
